Last week, LG had sent out invites for a conference at Mobile World Congress 2011 about a smartphone to take attendees to a new dimension. Phandroid blog was tipped with an exclusive photo of upcoming LG handset running Android. This leaked LG Android handset is neither Optimus 2X nor the Optimus Black. It's a totally new mobile device from LG. Just like Phandroid, I firmly believe that it might be the Optimus 3D smartphone.
Irony of the photo is that it has been captured using an iPhone 4 and there's no way one could tell that the screen supports 3D. According to the anonymous tipster, this Android running LG phone has touchscreen display larger than 4-inch. It certainly is a high end phone with dual-core CPU and multi-channel RAM. So it might perform as much like the Optimus 2X or may be better. Front facing camera is clearly visible on the top that points at video call and chat.
Just like Nintendo announced 3DS a glassless 3D content supporting game console, LG might have done something on similar lines. We already reported that LG indeed is working on glass-free 3D smartphone running Android. Not to forget, LG did similar thing with LG Arena two years ago before MWC 2009. So let's pray this time the display supports glass-free 3D and not some 3D interface layered over Android OS.
