T-Mobile has promised to release Android Gingerbread for the T-Mobile G2x soon, and according to TmoNews, a brand new Gingerbread-based phone may be released soon too: the Samsung Exhibit 4G mid-range phone. The blog has obtained a range of hands-on photos of the phone, showing that it runs Android 2.3.3.
While nothing is official yet, the Exhibit 4G is rumored to sport a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 1.4GHz ARM11 processor, 5-megapixel camera with 720p HD video recording and a VGA front-facing camera. The phone will also offer 4G HSPA+ connectivity.
Given the fact that T-Mobile just recently released the Samsung Galaxy S 4G, it's natural to believe that the carrier's customers would have wanted to see the Galaxy S2 hitting store shelves rather than the Exhibit 4G. It looks like that won't happen anytime soon though.
There's little doubt that the above-mentioned T-Mobile G2x seems to be the carrier's flagship phone this summer. It's worth noting that the Galaxy S2 will run the same NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor as the G2x in select markets, indicating that Samsung has not been able to deliver the Exynos 4210 version to T-Mobile until further down the road.
