Sony is delaying the release dates for its new Alpha series DSLR models from mid-October to mid-November. The models will ship late as Sony plans to review production of the Sony Alpha SLT-A65 before delivery. Reasons for the A65 production review are not known at this time, however Sony has confirmed a November 11 release. According to Sony Alpha Rumors the A77 will also be delayed outside of Japan.

The site claims that Sony's flagship DSLR model, the Sony Alpha SLT-A77 is waiting for a newer firmware version. Several bugs will be corrected in version 1.03 and Sony wants to deliver the camera with this firmware before its international debut. At the earliest, the A77 would be pushed back two weeks and ship at the end of October.
Delivery dates notwithstanding, the A65 and A77 pack impressive specifications for the DSLR enthusiast. At the heart of these cameras is Sony's 24.3 megapixel Exmor APS HD CMOS image sensor along with a Bionz image processor. These cameras sport the unique Alpha lens mount and translucent mirror design previously used by Sony. The A77 also features an incredibly high-resolution OLED electronic viewfinder (EVF).
Luckily for those looking to score one of the new Alpha DSLR cameras, Sony still looks to be on track to deliver before the holiday season. It remains to be seen what level of demand exists for the models, but pre-ordering has already begun.
