Launched last year by Sunil Tyagi, the company sells the product directly to consumers via its website cutting out importers, agents and retailers. "I noticed the expensive prices for the latest electronics products and wondered if it was necessary, or just industry standard.
I felt there was a niche in the market for more affordable, high quality electronic goods and wanted to make a change. I disagreed with customers paying four times the manufacturing costs for some products, so I set out to prove there was a better way to do things," says Tyagi.
The company sells LCD TVs ranging from a 19-inch LCD TV with a built-in DVD player for $295, to its 47-inch Full HD TV for $1255. The company use panels from LG and Samsung and uses the same materials as other brands in the market.
During our initial hands-on, we found the 47-inch TV to produce warm colours, with several scenes from Casino Royale played from the PlayStation 3 looking a bit on the orange side. Adjusting the settings definitely helped, with the remote and TV user interface being easy to use. The 32-inch Full HD TV with built-in DVD handled the Blu-ray movie well and looks impressive for its price.
Unlike other small companies that do not provide after-sale services, Tyagi promises the following:
* A 7-day money back guarantee.
* On-site warranty—"All Tyagi LCDs, no matter what the size, are guaranteed to be fixed at the person's house or couriered to Tyagi repairs office for larger problems. All costs involved are covered by Tyagi and an extended 5-year warranty is also available," says the company.
* Unlimited support.Tyagi currently has 11 HD LCD TVs on offer, with plans to expand in coming months.
